Smart loan decisions start here
Tenor started from a simple frustration: most loan calculators online are either buried behind a bank's marketing funnel, riddled with intrusive pop-ups, or too simplistic to actually show you what a loan costs over its full tenure. We wanted a calculator that just works — no sign-up, no phone number requested "for a callback," and no dark patterns nudging you toward a specific lender.
So Tenor was built as a straightforward, free tool: move a few sliders, see your EMI, total interest, and full repayment schedule instantly, and download a PDF if you want to keep or share it. That's the whole product.
Calculate monthly payments instantly with our real-time loan calculator.
Compare two loans side by side to find which one truly costs less.
See exactly how much you save by paying a little extra every month.
Beyond the core calculator, we also publish dedicated calculators for home, car, personal, business, education, gold and bike loans, plus a loan eligibility estimator, a balance-transfer comparison tool, and an educational blog covering how EMIs are calculated, how to reduce interest, and how to compare loan offers properly.
Every calculator on this site uses the standard reducing-balance amortization formula used by banks and NBFCs: EMI = P × r × (1 + r)ⁿ ÷ ((1 + r)ⁿ − 1), where P is the loan principal, r is the monthly interest rate (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100), and n is the number of monthly installments. This is the same math that determines your real-world EMI, which is why the numbers here should line up closely with what a lender quotes you.
All calculations run entirely inside your browser using plain JavaScript — nothing you enter is sent to a server. Read the full breakdown, with a worked example you can verify by hand, in our EMI formula guide.
Tenor is free to use, with no sign-ups and no hidden fees — just clear numbers you can trust and act on. We keep the site running through non-intrusive advertising rather than charging users or selling data.
Tenor is built and maintained by Faraz, an independent developer focused on making financial tools simple, fast, and accessible for everyone — regardless of whether you're taking your first personal loan or your third home loan. Have feedback or found a bug? Reach out via the contact page.
